We have local project work THIS Saturday (and every saturday) October 1 at the community garden on Rogers Road. We are working on a GREEN HOUSE now. We’ll be picking up from the Davis ATMs at 10:15a and should return around noon. Our professional mentor, Nol, has graciously offered to lend us some of his power tools (with his supervision) so building the greenhouse should be a bit easier this weekend. We are having our first local project trip this Saturday (9/17/2016)! Come out and work on the garden! Be sure to wear closed-toed shoes and some clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirt on.
Our local project is with a community garden in the nearby Rogers Road – these community members are starting to get the garden off the ground and have been able to grow some vegetables for their families already. We partner with them to help maintain and improve the garden, and were able to assist in the implementation of a drip irrigation last semester. Be sure to come check out the project this weekend to learn about the exciting engineering projects we’ll be taking on this semester!

THIS SATURDAY Lake Clean-Up event with the RTP chapter this weekend! An awesome opportunity to give back to the community as well as a great chance to network with local professionals.
What: We will walk around our adopted portion of the Shelley Lake Trail picking up trash and debris.
When: Sept. 10, 2016 @ 9:00AM – 12:00PM
Where: Meet at the picnic tables outside the Seratoma Arts Center (1400 W Millbrook Rd, Raleigh,NC 27612)
What else: Closed-toes shoes, long pants, long sleeves, bug spray, and gloves are advised. We will provide trash bags.
We have some exec members who will be driving, below is a link to the sign-up sheet. We will be picking up from the Davis ATMs at 8:00am on Saturday morning and we will be back around 12:30pm (at the latest).
